Oh, how I love handbuilding. I believe it is the best way to get acquainted with the material; clay. With the right techniques you are able to make smooth and aesthetically appealing shapes, and you are free to sculpt and go free form.
From the first class you will be taught a variety of handbuilding techniques. Where in the thereafter classes you can develop your techniques and make whatever you like. You are totally free, allowing you to work on your own projects such as making a set of plates or cups, bowl and/or vase. We will also glaze the materials.
The main focus in a course is on techniques, the process and practicing. Not on producing as many pieces as possible (6 max). If you wish to continue making with ceramics, consider a membership during or after this course.

Spend five summer mornings slowing down and making something you’ll use during long summer dinners for years to come. In this beginner-friendly handbuilding course, students will create their own ceramic dinnerware set by hand. From plates and bowls to cups and serving pieces. Using simple slab, pinch, and coil techniques, we’ll explore form, texture, and surface design while building a cohesive collection that reflects your personal style.
Whether you’re completely new to clay or returning to ceramics after time away, this course is designed to be relaxed, creative, and grounding.
