Join us on a Friday night for a hands-on experience where you'll be guided in handbuilding your own adventsljusstake. As you work, enjoy a glass (or two), some bites and relax to the soothing sounds of christmas jazz. We will make sure the ljusstake is ready for pick up before first advent Sunday.

Teapot masterclass with Will Keating
The course runs on Saturday November 15 and Sunday November 16 from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm, with a further half day for glazing to be decided closer to the time of the course. A fresh vegetarian lunch is included. More information will be send one week in advance of the masterclass.
In this two-day workshop, students will learn how to make their own beautiful, functional teapot. Will breaks down the different elements involved, and students will learn how the body, spout, handle, lid and strainer are thrown and assembled to create a teapot which is a joy to use.
Having worked closely with tea practitioners in the past, Will pays careful attention to the finer details when crafting teapots in his own practice. The balance, proportions, the flow - all are carefully considered for the way in which they contribute to the meditative nature of tea.
To get the most out of this course, it is recommended for improvers, intermediate and advanced throwers only, as a degree of throwing experience is required.

We’ll split the group in two, so you get to try both techniques. On the wheel, you’ll learn the basics of centering and pulling up clay. It takes time to master, but this is a great first step! In the handbuilding part, you’ll shape your own piece, like a cup, mug, or bowl, with plenty of guidance along the way.
The atmosphere is relaxed, the clay is ready, and team coffee, and snacks are included. Just bring yourself and a little curiosity!
